Dinner for Cambodia night

On Saturday November 14th a fundraising dinner was held by the Young Adults for the The Plas Prai project. This dinner was open to all congregation members and friends of Plas Prai and was attended by over 50 people.

Plas Prai (‘Transformation’ in the Khmer Language), is a Cambodian Non-Government Organisation and Charity.

Several people from Bethlehem have visited Plas Prai to volunteer their time and better understand the needs of others. In January Tahlia will return for a second time to share in the lives of those who live in the boarding house.

Tahlia hard at workTahlia herself is a qualified chef and besides largely planning the dinner, took 3 days off work to prepare for Saturday night. Everyone agreed that the food was amazing and that she and her helpers had done a fantastic job!

During the dinner there was also a raffle, a quiz, a door prize and a treasure hunt. Guests could also admire and purchase large framed photos taken of Cambodia by Tahlia and Ella and there are still copies available of the calendar produced for the night ($15 – available on Sundays and from the office during the week). It was a great evening!

Thank you to all who attended and helped and made donations, all contributing to a night to remember.

If you are able to support this project or would like any further information, please contact Fiona, Tahlia or Lois.
