Worship at Bethlehem

Resuming Sunday Public Worship at Bethlehem

'Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise!' Psalm 100:4

Sunday public worship will resume at Bethlehem on Sunday June 28 at 9:00am, 11:00am and 7:00pm. On this Sunday numbers will be restricted to 75 attendees per service. There is an online booking system. If you would like to attend please contact the church office on 8223 6662 or bethlca@adam.com.au to obtain the booking link.

Please note that the June 28 9am service has now been fully booked. The 11am and 7pm services have plenty of spaces available.

We are able to resume public worship on the basis of observing COVID protocols such as social distancing, using hand sanitizer upon arrival, and various other practices we've become accustomed to in our community these past months. There will also be changes to our worship services for this time such as not using common hymnbooks and orders of service, not passing around offering bowls, and not using the common cup for the congregation.

We look forward to gathering again around God's word and sacrament.

Services will also continue online in the near future.

Regular Worship

Each Sunday, more than 300 people gather for worship at Bethlehem. Find out more about our regular worship services.

On this page:

Worship at 9am

Worship at 9am is a traditional service with organ and choir. The liturgies used are printed in full within Bethlehem's Service Order booklet. Hymns are chosen from the Lutheran Hymnal and Supplement.

Hymnals and Service Order booklets are available from the ushers as you enter the church. The weekly bulletin also contains information about worship.

A children's address is normally held during the service where children in the congregation are invited to the front to spend a short time of learning with one of our pastors.

This worship service is generally quite full so come early, particularly on special festival days.

Worship at 11am

At 11am, a contemporary worship service is held each Sunday with a band and lead singers. The liturgy, songs, Bible readings and responses are all projected onto the wall using data projection.

Songs are generally selected from the All Together song book series produced by the Lutheran Church of Australia. The liturgy used is flexible, choosing from a variety of pieces of liturgical music.

A children's address is often held during this service where children in the congregation are invited to the front to spend a short time of learning with one of our Pastors.

Worship at 7pm

Evening worship, held at 7pm at Bethlehem, is a traditional service with organ music. The liturgies used are printed in full within Bethlehem's Service Order booklet. Hymns are chosen from the Lutheran Hymnal and Supplement.
